Personally, I find the whole episode very sad. I’ve never been to Bloc but it was the premier electronic music festival in the UK and its tie-up with London Pleasure Gardens was a truly exciting partnership.

Unfortunately, neither will now get the chance to flourish. I was gutted to hear about the Pleasure Gardens going into administration so soon after hosting the Africa stage of the BT River of Music festival – a great event although not without its own organisational issues, which you can read about further down the page.

However, it was exciting to have such a cool festival venue in London – hopefully somebody can buy it out of administration and realise its beautiful vision more completely. Isn’t this when Melvyn Benn normally steps in?
